Our league adheres to the official national high school basketball rules of National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS), mirroring the familiar standards that many of us have grown up playing, with the below adjustments.
Timeouts – Each team is allowed 3x 30 second timeouts per game.
Clock Stoppage – The clock will stop during the final two minutes of the game if the score difference is 10 points or less.
Ball Advancement – The ball may be advanced to half court with under two minutes remaining in the second half (this applies to overtime as well).
Overtime – The first overtime will have a two-minute stopping clock and 1x 30 second timeout. Any subsequent overtime will be decided by sudden death (first team to score during sudden death wins the game).
Personal Foul Limit – Each player is allowed 5 personal fouls. If a team has only 5 players, any foul committed by a player after their 5th foul, results in 2 points for the opposing team and possession of the ball.
Bonus Free Throws – Teams will enter the bonus, with a 1-and-1 free throw situation, after committing 7 team fouls; and two free throws after 10 fouls are committed.
Roster Lock – Teams are not permitted to make any changes to their roster after the third game of the season. Any team attempting to play an unregistered player will be required to forfeit the game.
Playoff Player Eligibility Requirement – To participate in the playoffs, a player must participate in at least two regular season games. Any team attempting to play an unregistered player will be required to forfeit the game.
